I'm working on my Yuletide signup. I've pared down the list of fandoms I'm going to offer to about fifty. I may cut a little further because I'm trying to limit the list to things I would actually have fun writing.

The list of things to ask for is harder. I have six fandoms and four slots. (It could easily be more than six fandoms. I've been ruthless.) Ayatsuri Sakon stays. Planet Ladder stays. After that.... I feel like I should keep Sky High as a good pinch hitter fandom, but maybe I could ditch it and take a risk. I sort of suspect that what I'm interested in reading isn't common in the fandom. Condor Hero could be fun. I still love The Pretender and covet a fic with some psychological exploration. Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok is a canon that frustrates me, and I kind of want fic to address the gap between the humor of the series and the darkness of Norse mythology. Of course, for that, I've only been able to get my hands on a little of the manga and so am thinking about the anime while the signup is for the manga.

Decisions, decisions. Any advice?

I'm trying to get the sign up out of the way so that I can focus on other things. My [livejournal.com profile] livelongnmarry fic still isn't done. My recipient has graciously granted me an extension on it, and I have a couple of beta readers looking at the most recent draft. I want to get it done.

After that's done, I want to try to write 30,000 words this month. I'm already behind, but a few good days could close the gap. (I'm not quite at half what I wanted for the last two days which isn't awful given that I've been rewriting something else.)

I may put up a poll some time this month to let people vote as to which fics I should put my effort into. I'm curious as to what people who actually read my LJ would think. Plus, I've never made a poll. I want to try it. If I did a poll, would anybody vote? I know a lot of my readers don't care.

Is it worthwhile for me to keep watching Iron Man if I've gotten to the press conference and am bored? I haven't managed to pay attention long enough to catch any of the characters' names, even. Things blew up. People died. Whatever.

Is the rest likely to be more my sort of movie? I can still get the DVD into today's mail, you see. Scott's already watched it, and he liked it a lot. I think that, if I watched it with him, I'd think it was okay, but that would mostly be me enjoying his pleasure with some bit of him rubbing my back. That won't happen until Wednesday at the earliest, and by then we could have another DVD from Netflix.

I'm posting this now with the idea that I'll put a link to it in my Yuletide sign up to make it easier to find if my request goes to a pinch hitter or if my assigned writer needs to find it again a while after assignments go out.

I'm cutting this because it's unlikely to interest anyone but whoever gets assigned to write for me.

Yet another thing to remember about Provigil-- It increases my alertness. It increases my psychological spoons. It does *not* increase my physical spoons. I'll feel more ready to tackle physical tasks, but my body will not feel less in pain, less shaky or less tired after I'm done.

This is important.

Mind, do not be writing physical checks that the body cannot pay.

(This message brought to me by twenty minutes of minor yardwork, mostly involving picking maple seeds out of one of the raised beds.)

ETA: Mind, also please to be remembering that, although the Provigil suppresses appetite, the body still needs to eat. Three slices of cheese, a Halloween packet of malted milk balls and seven grapes are not sufficient food for one day.
