Aug. 4th, 2012 02:36 pmWe have ants. We've had them for a while. They're little red ones. They don't seem to be interested in our food, but they're all over our sink and counter. Last night, we discovered that they'd decided to start a nest in and under our large sponge. I picked it up, and there were a ton of ants around a bunch of little white things that might have been eggs. The ants ran when we picked up the sponge, but there were clearly ants burrowed into the sponge. We soaked it in water, but I think we'll have to throw it out. There's no way to get the dead ants out.
We've put out more ant traps. I'm not optimistic. The ones we had before did nothing. I suppose we'll see. I do wonder what on earth they're eating. Whatever it is, they're obviously finding enough of it.
The ants seem to be coming up the wall, behind the sink and cupboards. We haven't seen any actually in the cupboards, but we haven't really looked. We do use the things in those cupboards, though, so I'd expect to have spotted them.
