Dec. 21st, 2013 03:50 pmScott's brother and his family could arrive any minute. Scott's been running around trying to make things tidy before they arrive. Scott got lucky today-- He was almost to work this morning when they called him to tell him not to come in. Two of the machines have broken down, so they can't do full production. This doesn't bode well for Christmas Eve, but it does mean that he's home today.
As far as company goes, Scott and Cordelia are really looking forward to visitors. I'm not. I feel like I'm being pushed out of my routine in a way that's not comfortable. Having company means I can't do what I want and that I have to worry about feeding everyone. Dinner tonight, we have planned. Breakfast and lunch tomorrow, not so much, and Scott won't be around to help out.
I just have to make it through lunch tomorrow. After lunch they leave to go to Scott's parents' house, with a stop in Brighton for the girls to have a skiiing lesson. I'm not sure how we'll be getting Cordelia back afterward, but I suppose we'll figure something out. I just hope it doesn't rain tomorrow. They can't have the lesson if it's raining.
Once they've gone tomorrow, I plan to bake. I may make fudge, too. There's not much left of the first batch I made, and fudge is always popular at the Christmas gathering. If I get really ambitious, I'll make the Christmas porridge. I need to do that tomorrow or Monday (Tuesday, we may end up spending all day at Scott's parents' place).
