We made it up to Scott's sister's place last night. Scott drove us to a McDonald's in, I think, South Lyon. We had dinner there, and Scott's sister drove down to meet us. On the trip to her house, everybody but me played a sort of Apples to Apples where one person thinks of an adjective and then everybody else has to come up with a noun that matches it. I didn't think it was much fun-- There wasn't any of the silliness that comes with the normal game.

Once we got here, we played a story telling game that Cordelia got for Christmas. I forget what it's called, but it's basically a stack of cards. People take turns drawing a card and using it to tell a bit of a story. Ours was pretty silly. After that, Cordelia, her cousin and her aunt played a couple of other games, including Life. That wrapped up about eleven, and then we all got ready for bed.

Cordelia was pretty worried about her ability to sleep. She said she was afraid she'd wake everybody up if she came looking for me for hugs. She slept in her cousin's room. I slept in the living room. She seems to have slept fine. She didn't come out looking for me at all.

I slept poorly, as I expected. The futon was too hard. The extra pillows I brought weren't soft enough to make much difference, and my back was at a funny angle because I was lying on top of the pillows. I did, however, have enough blankets to be warm. I was concerned about that because I know they keep the house quite cold at night.

Right now, my sister-in-law is out at an accupuncture appointment. Our niece and nephew are still asleep. Cordelia is doing facetime with one of her school friends. It's fortunate that she can do that. I think she'd be pretty bored otherwise. She got up about seven.

I stayed under the covers until fairly late. I didn't want to brave the chill. I did finally get up. I've folded most of my bedding. I heated water for my coffee. It took longer than I expected because the first burner I tried for the kettle turned out to be broken. It didn't heat at all.

The plan for the rest of the day is lunch out, followed by shopping of some sort. Cordelia and I have some preferences for lunch, but we're both willing to go wherever for shopping. There isn't anything we really need, so we'll just be looking randomly.

This evening, Scott will come up here for dinner. His parents are supposed to come down from their place, too. We'll all eat together. It'll probably be the last time we see Scott's parents before they go on their cruise. We're all worried about how Scott's father will do on the cruise. He doesn't want to alter any of their plans in the face of his health problems, but he probably won't have a choice.
