Cordelia had her last indoor soccer game yesterday at 4:40. It's the last one ever because she's aged out of Rec & Ed's indoor soccer program. This is the first sport she's aged out of. I don't know what we'll do during this season next year. The only option would be basketball, and she's been pretty adamant that she doesn't want to play that again.

Cordelia's team played the same team as last week, but the game was a bit more even. (Cordelia's coach has 20+ girls that he coaches and does two games a week. He randomly assigned girls to each game, so this was technically a game against his second team. It's just that some of the same girls played both weeks.) I'm pretty sure Cordelia's team scored more goals than the other team, but it was easy to lose track.

When we got home, Cordelia watched an episode of Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman from Netflix (Netflix has season one only. We're hoping they get more. It's easier to watch there than from the Fetch! website). This episode had the kids cooking, and at one point, they had spinach calzones. Cordelia and I both thought that sounded good, so Scott ordered us all calzones from Cottage Inn. There wasn't enough spinach for my taste, but it was pretty good.

We finally finished watching Frozen. We all liked it. Cordelia was a little astonished when we said that, ten years ago, they wouldn't have structured the movie this way.

We've got a busy day ahead. Cordelia has a Girl Scout hike from 1:00 to 3:00. Scott has Science Olympiad practice from 2:00 to 3:00. Then Cordelia has Science Olympiad practice from 3:30 to 4:30. Somewhere in there, we need to get to the public library, and I've promised Cordelia that we'll go to Barnes and Noble. She's about to finish the first book in a series and wants the rest. She's willing to pay for them herself rather than wait for them from the library.

Flavored seltzer water is a poor substitute for a sugary carbonated drink. It's been twelve years since I was last watching what I ate and drank, and I'd forgotten how much flavored seltzer water really isn't satisfying. I expect I'll get used to it. I did last time. Cordelia insisted on trying some and was horrified that anyone would voluntarily drink the stuff.

Scott bought some rootbeer for Cordelia. That will test my resolve. It's easiest when we simply don't have that stuff in the house, but it's not fair to insist that Cordelia can't have any just because I shouldn't. It'll take her weeks to get through the six bottles Scott bought. She likes pop but only in small quantities. Of course, this particular rootbeer has no caffeine, so the temptation for me is a bit less. Well, maybe not less, but caffeine would give me a further argument in favor of indulging when I'm tempted.

I used stevia in my coffee yesterday and today. So far, no headache. I've got my fingers crossed. It's still hard for me, psychologically, to use the stevia. I'm so used to thinking of artificial sweeteners as evil, evil, evil that it's hard to give the stevia a fair trial. I know, intellectually, that it's not aspartame or sucralose and that the problems I get from those substances don't translate automatically to problems with stevia.

I have signed up for Remix. This goes against my original plan for this year which was to focus on Rheotaxis and not do any exchanges/challenges, but I'm hopeful that it will actually help. I've been making no progress on Rheotaxis at all. I've not been writing anything at all. I'm hoping that Remix, having a deadline and all, will get me moving and writing and that that will carry over after Remix is done.

Plus, there was no Remix last year. I missed it. I really want to participate this year, especially since I managed to qualify in an additional fandom. I have enough stories in both Weiss Kreuz and The Chronicles of Narnia to qualify.
