Scott's Babylon 5 game met last night. We've changed weeks for the rest of May because Scott and I have things going on both nights we were originally supposed to play. One of the players came late because there was something going on at his son's school. We spent about an hour working on our characters for the FATE thing Scott wants to run. I didn't make much progress. My sense of my character is very nebulous. I need to talk to Scott and see if he can help me get a handle on her.

Scott's very enthusiastic about FATE. If he could talk people into it, he'd switch the B5 game to FATE (from D20). I think he's really running this short scenario in hopes of persuading the rest of the group that the switch might be a good idea. I think switching would be cumbersome.

The actual bit of B5 we played was frustrating to me. I don't see any good options for getting out of the situation we're in. Well, our characters will get out of it. We'll just have to abandon a lot of people to die. Our ship was attacked by a Shadow vessel and forced down on an abandoned planet (one that my character knows as a locus for smuggling activity). There are lots of other ships that have been forced down, and there are monsters, big, invisible monsters that can phase through walls, that eat people. If we can repair our ship, we can likely get past the Shadow vessel because we have two powerful telepaths (one pc and one npc) on board. We can't get rid of the Shadow vessel, however, and we don't have room on the ship for all the survivors still scattered around. We also only have food for about a week.

I worked bagel Friday this morning. We sold all but two bagels. The woman who usually buys what's leftover was disappointed. She'll have to go to the bagel store on her way to work.

I had paperwork to take to the office, but I forgot it when I first went in and so had to make a second trip to the school. I took in a check for Cordelia's lunches, a check for the PTO plant sale (I'm buying a gift card because I won't be able to pick anything up on the 10th when it all comes in), and a background check form that I need in order to chaperone fifth grade camp.

Last night, [livejournal.com profile] booniverse gave me samples of several teas. I'm going to be trying those out over the course of the next two or three weeks.

Today, I started with Stash's ginger breakfast black tea. I could just taste the ginger. The ginger flavor even survived when I added stevia. I like ginger, so that's a bonus. The black tea balances the stevia flavor pretty well.

I will certainly consider getting this one again.
