Scott worked 3 a.m. to 7 a.m. this morning, and he's not home yet. I expect him at any minute. There's no production this weekend, so they shouldn't keep him very late, just long enough to clean up. He is supposed to pick up bagels on his way home. Cordelia specifically asked for a fragel. I hope Scott remembers.

I consulted with another remixer and have concluded that my story's not done. Well, the story hit a good ending point. It's just that the remix part wasn't complete. I worked on it all day yesterday, and it's still not done. I should have some time this afternoon, after Cordelia leaves for her overnight with Scott's parents. I will probably have Scott beta read the dratted thing simply because he's the one who'll be available in the time I have.

We have a soccer game in another hour. It's wet and cold, so I'm not looking forward to it. 9 a.m. is a rotten time for a game because it's too early for the sun to make a difference (assuming there is sun). Even if it's not raining, the grass tends to be wet and slippery.

Next week's game is also at 9 a.m. Scott may not go. He hasn't decided yet. The difficulty is that he needs to be at Pioneer at 10 a.m. That means leaving before the game ends. Cordelia and I can get a ride from one of the other families most likely. It's getting the two of us to Pioneer afterward that's the challenge. I may try the A-Ride. If I schedule for 11, we should get there in plenty of time for Cordelia's event at 1. Getting home from the game by 11 ought to be feasible. The alternative if getting the A-Ride from the soccer game, and I'd rather not do that because of how crowded it will be. The game is at a middle school that has something like six soccer fields, so there are lots and lots of people there.

I've got my Not Prime Time assignment. It's definitely something I can write. The main difficulty will be coming up with a unique angle on it because the request is for something I've seen done a lot in the fandom. My recipient didn't do a dear writer letter. The fic they've written is all in fandoms I know nothing about. The prompt was a single sentence. I'm a little nervous that I won't come up with something pleasing to my recipient because I know nothing about their taste or what they love about the fandom and characters. The story's not due until the beginning of July, so I can afford to take a little time to mull over my options.

The soccer game today was, in fact, cold. There was a strong wind that made it seem colder than it was, and the sky was overcast. I kept tucking my hands into my sleeves because it was too cold to have them exposed. I don't know how the girls who were just in t-shirts and shorts managed. Cordelia wore a long sleeved shirt under her team t-shirt, and she wore sweat pants.

I think Cordelia's team lost the game, but I didn't keep close track of the score, and it was close enough that it might have been a tie. The girls played pretty well, according to Scott (I generally can't tell. I don't necessarily know what I'm seeing). I commented to another mother that it's a huge difference between how they play now and how they played in kindergarten. For one thing, they actually pass the ball now, and they understand more or less how to stay in position.

The other mother I was talking to has a daughter at Cordelia's school, so we discussed that. Her daughter will also be staying for next year rather than going to the big middle school. The other mother said that she won't be sorry to see the current principal go because her daughter has been bullied since second grade and the current principal has refused to do anything about it, saying that there's no proof.
