Aug. 4th, 2014 11:24 amYesterday at lunch time, there was a potluck on the school playground. It was originally intended for the families of incoming sixth graders, but the organizer opened it up to other grades, and that was mostly who was there. I think I only saw two other sixth graders, and one of those won't be at the school in the fall as he's home schooled (he came with his friend who will be at the school in the fall). Cordelia was bored, and I was very uncomfortable with how many people there were around. I didn't talk to many people as I'm not at all good at starting conversations with strangers. We ended up leaving early.
After the potluck, we went to the library. Cordelia and I both had holds to pick up. Cordelia has started reading fluffy kid's manga, Chocomimi and Fluffy, Fluffy Cinnamoroll. I'm not sure where she's finding out about these series. I don't object. I'm just curious.
We got bubble tea, too. Scott actually got a snowbubble (crushed ice with flavor). It hasn't been warm enough for most of the summer for that to appeal, but yesterday was pretty warm, especially in the car after it had been sitting in the sun. (Scott hasn't been putting the car in the garage because he's using it to store his new grill. I think there's room for both the car and the grill but not easily.)
We're expecting Scott to have a lot of overtime this week given the water situation in Toledo and surrounding area. There's a really big demand for bottled water right now. Fortunately, we don't have anything going on that Scott needs to schedule around. Overtime will be frustrating and exhausting for Scott, but we'll get through it. He has next week as vacation time. We just have to get to next Monday.
