The welt on my leg kept me awake last night. I finally got up and got a cold pack. That meant lying kind of contorted, but it helped the discomfort. I can't quite call it pain-- It's a kind of itching, burning feeling that gets worse if anything touches the welt. I found some benadryl cream and put that on, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

Cordelia did end up going with me to vote. She was scared to stay home alone. She wasn't pleased by the long walk, but she didn't really complain. We did speculate about how they handled the folks who would normally vote at her school-- The school is currently a hardhat zone, so they can't have had voting in the gym the way they usually do.

The proposal I opposed passed easily. I think it's poorly thought out, and I don't like the idea of communities being reliant entirely on local taxes for so many things. Some of the candidates I supported won but not all. I'm trying to figure out which candidate won the mayoral election as I never got the male candidates' names straight. There was one of them I thought would be okay and one I thought I didn't want. I'm just not sure which one won.

I have my fingers crossed about the judicial races because the candidates I supported are advancing, but so are candidates I oppose. There were a lot of people running for two open judge positions. The top two in each race go on the November ballot. I wasn't confident of my ability to discern who the best candidates were for those positions, so I asked a friend who's an attorney. In one race, she endorsed a candidate. In the other, she told me who she was voting for but said to vote for anyone but the incumbent (the incumbent was appointed by the Republican governor a couple of months ago).
