I don't know if anybody reading this will have any ideas, but [community profile] metanews is looking for sources for meta about various fandom topics. We follow a bunch of blogs and DW journals. We search AO3 and Tumblr (though we barely scratch the surface on Tumblr. It's very hard to find things there). What we lack, however, is any real sources for meta on anime/manga fandoms. We get so little that we use a generic tag for anime and manga rather than using the name of the specific fandom because specific fandoms don't ever come up again. Even a juggernaut like Naruto has only come up twice. Anyone know of any good sources for fannish meta about anime/manga fandoms?

I've been poking at the Yuletide tag set. I know it's not absolutely finalized yet, but I don't anticipate much change in the fandoms I'm interested in. I have about twenty fandoms in which I can offer any and which I would be thrilled to write. There are about twenty more that I could offer any and write but wouldn't be ecstatic to be assigned. I may not offer any of those because I fear writing them would be a struggle. Then there are about eight fandoms where I can only offer some characters, and I'm not sure I would actually want to write any of them because the reason I can't offer all the listed characters is that my memory is hazy and I don't remember who all of them are. Some of those canons are quite large, and I don't want to be in the position of digging through something long, looking for details on a minor character.

I'm only going to request the three fandoms I nominated. Nothing else in the tag set appealed to me enough for me to include it. To qualify for me to request it, the fandom would have to be something I wouldn't be disappointed to get on Christmas morning.

Cordelia's soccer practice for last night was cancelled. Cordelia was pleased, and it made the evening simpler all around. Scott was relieved because, coming off a twelve hour day, helping run a soccer practice was probably more than he could manage. (Cordelia has decided that she likes having Scott at practices as long as he's not the actual coach. We had made arrangements to have another family bring her home after practices, but she won't let Scott leave, so he's brought her home every week.)

I finally checked the basement to see if I could find a printed copy of the LARP I'm running at UCon. I didn't find one, but I did find a copy of the one I ran last year (which, at the time, I couldn't find). I'd swear I saw at least one copy of the dratted thing last year. Oh, well. I'll have to ask Scott to pick up a couple of binders and then print out three copies of the game (one for me, one for Scott, and one for the players). Scott and I need to start reviewing as soon as possible. This game is a little more challenging than most in terms of tracking the characters because the names aren't what we're used to. I'm not sure I should bother printing out my bibliography. Nobody was interested in it last time I ran this game, and I don't see why this time would be any different.

Yesterday, I tried Two Leaves' jasmine petal green tea. I liked how it smelled, pleasantly floral, but I didn't really enjoy the flavor. It was bitter and somehow not quite right for me. It is not a flavor I've ever previously encountered, so I don't really have words for it.
