Mar. 8th, 2015 11:33 amI did some writing yesterday. This chapter is nine pages long (3500 words), and not a lot has happened so far. I think this may be a transition chapter in which I settle the repercussions of earlier events. I stopped in the middle of a scene, and I'm pretty sure I can pick up where I was pretty easily. I don't know exactly what happens after this scene. I have an idea, but I'm not sure I want to go there. It's not out of character, but it may be too much of a distraction.
I made sloppy Joes last night with ground turkey and a pesto cheese sauce. I was a bit worried about the pesto sauce because I've had trouble with basil before, but I didn't end up having any reflux, so I guess this is safe.
Cordelia demanded that we go to Orange Leaf last night. She started out by saying we should go 'soon.' Scott offered Tuesday evening, but she said she wanted to go sooner. Scott and I laughed, but we did go last night. We found out that today is the one year anniversary of the place opening and that they're doing a special deal on the frozen yogurt today, so we may go back if we have time and can face the crowds. The place was pretty much empty when we arrived. There was someone leaving as we came in who recognized me but who I didn't recognize even when he told me his name was Chris. I'm bad with faces and names, so it's not entirely surprising. By the time we left Orange Leaf, there was a long line, and as we were getting into our car, there was someone with a huge bunch of balloons going in the door.
Scott and I watched some DVDs yesterday afternoon while Cordelia was reading. We had the last DVD of Burn Notice from Netflix. We were surprised that there was only one episode on the DVD. I wasn't entirely pleased with the episode, but it wasn't as bad as I'd heard. Then we watched the first half of the second Rurouni Kenshin live action movie. I'm not sure when we'll have time to watch the second half, though; Scott has plans today.
The time change has thrown us way off today. Scott and I got up about two hours later than usual (some of that is that we stayed up kind of late because I wanted to finish the book I was reading so that I could return it to the library today). I suspect we're going to be running late all day today. That won't matter so much to me as my plans are laundry and writing, but Scott wants to go to a board game gathering this afternoon/evening and will probably be late.
