When I returned my library stuff yesterday, I apparently missed a CD. At least, the library still thinks I have it checked out, and I didn't specifically check to see that I had all the CDs. I'd been keeping them all in one place and just picked all of them up and put them in the bag. I have no idea where this CD could be. It's not in any of the spots where I'd have been likely to put it. My next step is to move things around so that I can check under the couch. There's enough of a gap between the parts of the couch that something as thin as a CD case could slip to the floor. That's the only explanation I can think of, though. I hope I find the dratted thing there. I'd hate to have to pay for it.

We didn't get out to the library until after 2:00. Cordelia and I didn't eat lunch until around 3:30. Everything was thrown way off by the time change. I suppose I should be glad I got all of the laundry done. That was a near thing with Cordelia's clothes coming out of the dryer right as I was starting to get ready for bed. (I have to bring her clothes upstairs as soon as they're done or she won't have anything to wear Monday morning. I'd like her wardrobe to be a little bigger, but finding stuff that fits that she likes is hard.)

Scott went out to that gaming thing in the late afternoon yesterday. I wasn't sure when to expect him back, so I made dinner just for me and Cordelia (we had two pieces of frozen cod that had been waiting for an occasion when there were only two of us home for dinner). Naturally, Scott came home while we were eating. He had to settle for leftover pot stickers.

I ordered some 'spirit wear' for Cordelia. This consists of a t-shirt and a hooded sweatshirt with her school's name and logo on them. Cordelia is really eager for them to arrive, but they won't come in until the end of the month. I think that will be in plenty of time for her to wear the sweatshirt to and from school when it's too warm for her winter coat but not yet warm enough to do without entirely. The t-shirt was only $8, but the sweatshirt was, if I'm recalling correctly, $23.

I think I finished the chapter I was working on yesterday. It's not quite 4000 words, and the previous chapters of this story have run between 6000 and 9000 words each, so this one feels very short. I'm second guessing myself about it being done, but I think the more I could add to it would detract rather than add. I'm going to see what my first reader/beta reader thinks. I'm not at all sure what should happen in the next chapter, however, so I'm taking some time to think about it. I may have to move to a different point of view character for a little while.

I was awakened this morning by a phone call from my gastroenterologist's office. They wanted to schedule me for an appointment. The first they had available at a location I could get to was in September. It will, unfortunately, be before school starts, so I'll have to work out what to do with Cordelia. She'll be twelve, and I think she'd be fine on her own for the roughly three hours it would take, but she may not feel that way. I suppose I could take her along and leave her in the waiting room with a book. That would be tedious for her, but we could do it.

I'm surprised that Cordelia moving around and getting herself breakfast didn't wake me up. The phone call came around 10:15 (much later in the morning than I usually sleep in), and I'm not sure Cordelia's eaten anything yet. There aren't any dirty dishes in the sink from her breakfast. I can't imagine her not eating at all, though.
