We had two extra kids yesterday. All three of them were in the living room with me for most of the day. Cordelia wanted to go for a walk (she's started doing that most days), but the boy was sick enough for it be a bad idea-- He has asthma that's made worse by cold air and exercise. Not that it was particularly cold yesterday. It was mainly just a bit wet. The kids did spend some time out in the front yard toward the end of the day. They're trying to raise money for Oxfam by selling bracelets they've made on Cordelia's rainbow loom. Unfortunately, our front yard is not a great place for that as very few people come by.

Scott did have to work 3:00 to 7:00 this morning. He'd thought it likely that he wouldn't have to go in, but they called around 10:30 to say that they would definitely need him. He's in bed now, after showering and making me coffee. I forgot to have him get me my breakfast banana, but I can put that in the bag on my walker, so fetching that myself is doable. It's not ideal, but it is possible.

I already have a lot of links stacked up for the next issue of [community profile] metanews. Being bored and not wanting to write has to be good for something, I suppose. This week's Google doc is available now, so I'll likely start putting links in today, just to clear things up a bit. I don't know when the new volunteers will start link finding. I'm hoping soon, but I don't know. I have been going into Feedly and marking as read anything that I'm sure isn't meta, so Feedly won't be as bad this week as it usually is. The Daily Dot and The Mary Sue can have hundreds of posts in a week, but they're mostly easily identified as not meta.

We had Chinese carry out last night for dinner. I enjoyed it but was also frustrated by it. Scott had to make up my bowl, and he doesn't do it the way I would. I like to get a fair amount of the sauce from at least one of the dishes so that the rice has flavor, and he seems to minimize sauce. He also gave me more rice and less other stuff than I'd have taken on my own. We did think, briefly, that we'd gotten the wrong order. We didn't realize that the sauce for Cordelia's sweet and sour shrimp would be in a separate container, so we thought, at first, that it was soup of some sort.

I slept poorly last night. It was too warm, even though I went down to just the sheet. I also had trouble finding a way to lie that didn't hurt some part or another of my body. I wish I could figure out how not to have my ear hurt when I lie on my side.

I'm going to have to send Scott out again today to pick up my prescription (he did the shopping already, but the pharmacy doesn't open until 10:00, so he couldn't deal with that part of things) and to return my unwatched library DVD. I suppose I could watch the dratted thing now if I can get Cordelia to put it in the player. I just don't know if it's worth the fuss and bother of trying to get her out of her room without waking Scott-- I'd have to call her phone, and she's always so horribly disappointed when it's me on the other end.

I'm not sure why I haven't written in the last couple of days. I just haven't been able to bring myself to do it. The document is waiting for me. There are two paragraphs in there already, so the dratted thing is started. I don't have that barrier. I just haven't done it. Hopefully today. I've got hours and hours of nothing much today, so why not?
