Jan. 13th, 2016 11:44 amCordelia has started coming in to hug me twice every morning instead of once. She says she just likes hugs. I’m a little worried, though. There was a wet streak next to one of her eyes during the first hug this morning. She said she had just washed her face, but no other part of her face was even vaguely damp, so I don’t know.
I have my doctor’s appointment for my foot at 2:15 today. I’m torn. My foot doesn’t hurt right now, and didn’t hurt yesterday, but it did hurt quite a bit on Monday and over the weekend. I may just have stayed off it enough yesterday that it didn’t get cranky. I’m not sure I want to do something like spending the next hour or two on my feet to see if I can set it off.
I bought Zingerman’s food for lunch yesterday. I ate half of the sandwich I bought, and then Scott and Cordelia split the remaining half as part of last night’s dinner. Cordelia complained that she wanted more, and Scott promised her that we’ll order dinner from there some time later this week. I also got garlic potato salad which I quite enjoyed and a halvah bar which was iffier. It wasn’t bad, but the menu didn’t mention that it was going to come crusted with nuts. The nuts looked like almonds, so I gambled and ate the dratted thing and didn’t end up having a reaction, but really, that’s the sort of thing that a menu ought to mention. I wanted to order kale rather than the potato salad, but they were out, so I couldn’t get that.
Cordelia refused to pick a present for Scott yesterday, so I picked one for her. If I understand correctly, she was worried that she wouldn’t be able to afford even the cheapest of what he’d put on his wishlist. I pointed out, later, that she has more than a month to save up. She gets $3.50 every week in allowance, and she only needs $8 to cover the paperback I picked out.
Scott has two drabble-ish fics (one is 80+ words; the other is 130+ words) he wrote years and years ago that I’ve been urging him to post somewhere. Yesterday, I signed him up on the waitlist for an AO3 account so that he can post them. He should have an account there anyway— He reads there, and leaving anonymous feedback isn’t very convenient. Both of his stories are SG-1 crossovers. I have no idea if they’d draw many readers, but why not?
