I woke today with a headache. It feels like a migraine, but migraine medication hasn’t entirely killed it, so I don’t know. It’s been an hour since I took that, so I’m debating what to take next. Probably Ativan in case it’s anxiety because I can see how it very easily could be. Taking Ativan won’t preclude taking naproxen or Tylenol, and it might help without me needing either.

Cordelia was really eager to get out of the house yesterday, so we went out for lunch at Totoro after our library trip. Cordelia and I stayed in the car at the library. I’d have gone in, but she hadn’t thought to bring her cell phone. Cordelia rejected Totoro at first, saying that she wanted to go somewhere where she could get a California roll. After we stopped laughing, we pointed out that pretty much any Japanese restaurant would have a California roll and that Totoro definitely does.

I hacked some new to me portals while we were out and even captured a few. I only held those for a few hours, but I wasn’t really invested in them. Turnover around there is pretty quick. The ones that Scott and I fortified, we did so because they were within range of where we were sitting for lunch and because we were both at our items cap and needed to clear stuff out of our inventories.

We tried a rosemary French bread recipe I found online. It’s tasty, but I think the ingredient proportions are off somehow. The loaf came out with two peaks, each over where one of the mixing paddles was, and bit of a trough between them. Right at the moment, I can’t focus enough to try looking up to see if that’s typical of a particular imbalance.

One of the blogs I follow, A Stitch in Time which focuses on textile archaeology/preservation, mentioned today that Routledge is making access to their archaeology journals, from 1997 to the present, free for the next couple of weeks, up until the 17th. There are apparently more than forty journals involved. I’m not sure if I’ll go look; maybe I will if this headache ever goes away, and maybe I won’t.

I wrote about 330 words yesterday. I was hoping for more, but I kept getting sidetracked. I think, too, that I’ve reached the transition point in the story between threatening bad things and actually having them happen. I just might enjoy writing the threatening parts more. The things actually happening part collapses possibilities and requires that I think about repercussions.

I think what I actually need right now is a nap. Unfortunately, Cordelia has set herself up in our bedroom (she can put her leg up *and* have a closed door for privacy), so that leaves me on the couch which isn’t nearly as comfortable. I need too, though, so I think that’s next. (I did take Ativan, about half an hour ago. It has helped some but hasn’t killed the headache completely.)
