Scott was scheduled to go in early this morning, so he went to bed early. He ended up going in and then getting sent home after about an hour. All of this meant me and Cordelia getting awakened at intervals. Scott got up about 8:00 when his bi-PAP ran out of water (for some reason, the reservoir is only designed for about seven hours). I got up a little later because I was feeling anxiety related rotten and wanted an Ativan. That woke Cordelia. I told her to go back to sleep, but she assumed I was going to stay out in the living room and kitchen. I didn’t have to, but if she was awake anyway, I was going to. I thought she’d ask me to leave.

I experimented today with spending some time without the compression pad. I didn’t itch less, but I think I hurt a little less. I got more hardness without the pad which is a bad sign. I don’t know— Maybe more frequent massage would deal with that? I would love to get rid of the compression pad. I think that that and the nightgown I have to wear under it are contributing a lot to my being uncomfortably warm. (I have tried a cotton t-shirt under the pad. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find anything cotton that doesn’t cause pain pretty quickly by getting bunched up.)

I need to look at the TV shows that we watch regularly and figure out where we could get them if we didn’t have cable and how much it would cost. I think Cordelia might be SOL because she wants to watch Tigers baseball. I’m pretty sure that Scott said that there were one or two others we couldn’t get anywhere else, so I don’t know.

Hm. Having poked around, I think the sticking point may be our internet speed and our need for services that have family plans that allow simultaneous access, from different devices and of different shows. (Paying for three memberships in each service would obliterate any possible savings from dropping cable.) Also, Scott will have to fix whatever the problem is with the AppleTV. We’ve only been able to do Netflix with it (and that sporadically) for months because it claims our log in isn’t any good. I can’t watch anything streaming on my laptop, not if it’s longer than about five minutes, because doing that means I can’t do anything else with my laptop. I can’t think of anything I’m interested enough in watching that I won’t want to do other things while it’s on. That’s a major reason I haven’t tried Hulu or Crunchyroll. Of course, Scott and Cordelia watched streamed content exclusively on their laptops, so my leverage to get Scott to deal with the Apple TV problem is pretty slight.

I’m feeling cranky, though, because I want a treat of some sort but didn’t put any such thing on the grocery list because I can’t justify the expense. I think that the problem is that there aren’t very many things left in my life that I really enjoy, and, in the top ten, seven of them are going to be food related luxuries. The eighth is giving gifts to people which… If I can’t afford to spend $4 on bubble tea, I can’t buy books to ship to other people. At least the ninth and tenth are free— Hugs from Cordelia and Scott. This is a Life Problem that I have no idea how to address.

I decided to spend some time thinking about the Life Problem I brought up at the end of my previous post. I’m not coming up with any ideas.
