May. 11th, 2016 02:42 pmCordelia’s best friend and her younger brother came over after school yesterday. The brother is in fourth grade, and last night was their recorder concert. Neither of their parents were available at the time when the boy needed to be back at the school (I think they both made it to the concert). The other kids’ mother sent money for pizza, and I ordered that about 5:00. Cordelia went to the concert, too, and the other family took her for ice cream afterward.
I got up about 7:30 this morning and called for a cab at about 9:00. The ultrasound technician took me in about fifteen minutes early which was nice because the full bladder part of things is pretty challenging. The whole procedure, including waiting to make sure that the folks who’ll be reading the images actually received them, took about an hour. Supposedly, they’ll put the report on the patient portal so that I can see it, but who knows? They really haven’t been good about that in the past, so I may not find out what the results are until next week.
Afterward, I walked a bit and did some Ingress. Then I ended up at the Espresso Royale on State St. where I ordered coffee and a blueberry muffin. It doesn’t seem to matter what sort of coffee I get in places like that— It all tastes the same to me, and it’s a flavor I don’t much like. I hadn’t had my morning coffee, however, because I didn’t want a diuretic combined with trying to hold things for a couple of hours.
I walked a bit more after the coffee and did more Ingress. I ended up at the downtown bus station and caught the bus home. The one I took is now called the #22 but used to be called the #1. I’m as pleased with myself about taking the bus as I am about all of the walking I did. I finished my appointment about 11:00, and I got home at 1:00. I very much doubt I took more than half an hour for my coffee, and the ride home took about ten minutes, so the rest of that time was walking and doing Ingress.
Of course, now I want to fall over and sleep for a week. Hopefully, I didn’t overdo enough to regret it tomorrow.
