Scott’s sister and I ended up having lunch at Saica yesterday. She loves certain types of sushi. We bought some carryout for Cordelia, too. We were hoping to do something relaxing after lunch, but I got a phone call right after we paid the bill that I needed to spend a fair chunk of time on.

Cordelia had plans in the evening, but they fell through. We ended up searching for something to watch that would appeal to all of us. We settled on The White Rabbit Project. Cordelia wasn’t enthusiastic, but nothing about it actually drove her out of the room.

Scott was scheduled to go in early this morning, but they didn’t need him. That was good because he’d have been going in on about three hours of sleep.

I woke today with a headache that I haven’t killed yet. It felt like a migraine, but Amerge didn’t help, and caffeine also hasn’t. I don’t want to take more Ativan if I can avoid it, but that may be where I end up. I think I will try to nap because I can’t actually make any of the phone calls I need to until Monday.

I want very much to spend some time writing, but I need this headache gone first.

Huh. The most useful thing for easing this headache has turned out to be heat applied to the back of my neck. I guess that underlines that it’s an anxiety thing. I probably really could use a professional massage, but that’s outside the current budget. I also suspect that it would only help for a day or two since the muscle tension is all coming from my head.

I’m considering a shower or bath, but I really don’t want to deal with wet hair and don’t have a way to get hot water on my shoulders and neck without getting my hair, too.

I’m only still awake because I’ve had enough liquid that I’ll be up and down frequently for a while yet. Reading when I want to sleep is less annoying than almost being asleep and then having to get up and start over. I have some relatively minor editing to do for my Yuletide story, but my brain is not working well enough for it just now.

I have two library books, both non-fiction interlibrary loan books, that are due Friday and can’t be renewed. I’m about three chapters into each. I’m not sue I’m going to have the mental resources to deal with anything that complicated this week.

I should call Scott’s parents to see if one or both of them could help out with transportation for Cordelia’s doctor’s appointment on Tuesday. If they could, we could leave here later than if we take a cab because I need to allow an hour between when I call the cab and when we have to be there. It’s only a fifteen minute drive, even when traffic’s bad, but cabs can take 45 minutes (or longer) to come. Mostly, they take 10 to 20, but it depends on the weather and the demand for cabs right then.
