Last night, after the Telestrations game, the four adults played two rounds of Sentinels of the Multiverse. I played Tempest when we went up against Iron Legacy. We got really lucky-- None of his really nasty cards came out before we beat him. I didn't get any of Tempest's cool cards out, but we still won. Then we went up against The Matriarch. She's listed as being a really tough villain, and we found her pretty difficult. She has minions that do damage if you leave them be and do damage if you kill them. Those minions keep coming back, and there are lots and lots of them. I played Unity for that round. Her thing is robots. I had difficulty getting the robots out (all of them say they can't be played as normal cards are), but the three I put into play were quite useful. One of them did damage every time it took damage, and that proved very useful. We managed to beat The Matriarch by the skin of our teeth.

[livejournal.com profile] cherydactyl and her family were planning to stay until midnight, but the adults were getting dangerously tired and were afraid they wouldn't be safe to drive if they stayed, so they went home around 9:30.

I lay down for a bit of a nap while Scott and Cordelia played the Lego Marvel game that I gave Scott for Christmas. I'm not sure I actually slept, but I might have-- The next time I checked, it was 11:50. I popped out of bed just long enough to toast the New Year with sparkling cherry juice. I was in bed for the night before 1:00 a.m.

Cordelia let us sleep until 10:00, and we lazed around in bed for another half an hour after that. Cordelia had apple pie for breakfast. Scott had intended to make pancakes, but that didn't work out.

I was hoping we'd be able to get bubble tea today, but when I called Bubble Island, it went straight to voice mail. There wasn't even a these-are-our-hours message. We're assuming they're closed today. Scott says it's just as well. There's a good bit of snow out there, and we're expecting more today and tonight.

I will probably be offline tomorrow and Friday. Scott's sister wants me and Cordelia to come up relatively early on Thursday, just after Cordelia's appointment, and stay for dinner on Friday. I had hoped to have Scott take us up Thursday after dinner and Scott's sister bring us home in the mid-afternoon on Friday, but Scott's sister wants to have a large family dinner with Scott's parents and all of us on Friday.

I think I'm very nearly as worried about this overnight as Cordelia is. I have different concerns, things like what am I going to wear to sleep in and how am I going to get up to take my thyroid medication. I'm sure I'll figure something out, but I'm not looking forward to it in the least. The things I do for my daughter.
