I've seen people looking back at their fic over the course of the year, so I took at look at what I wrote.

I managed eight short stories and, if I'm recalling correctly, two chapters of Rheotaxis. That's a lot for me. I hope I can keep up the pace as I work on Rheotaxis this year. I wrote three Chronicles of Narnia stories and, not counting Rheotaxis, I wrote two Weiss Kreuz fics. Not counting Rheotaxis, I wrote 31,000 words (I think Rheotaxis adds ten to fifteen thousand words).

I wrote the following. They're in reverse order of when I completed them. They can be found at AO3 or at my website. "Faded Colors" and "Under Saturn" are rated T/PG. Everything else is G.

Autumn Over Her (The Pretender, 4559 words)

To the Least of These (Chronicles of Narnia, 808 words)

Everything except "Faded Colors" and "To the Least of These" was written for a challenge or exchange ("Under Saturn" was for a challenge, but I finished about six weeks later than I intended to. Fortunately, there was posting amnesty). I tend to do better with something like that imposing an external deadline. It's going to be interesting to see how this year goes when I don't have those deadlines to punctuate my writing progress. There isn't going to be anything keeping me on track.

This is maybe a stupid question, but: Why won't you have those deadlines this year? Have you decided to stop participating in those challenges?

For the next year, I've decided to skip the exchanges and challenges and work exclusively on Rheotaxis. I want to see how close I can get to finishing if I dedicate a year to it. If I could find a challenge that would let me work on Rheotaxis, I'd take it in an instant.

I may not hold to my resolve all year. Yuletide is so very tempting, and I do enjoy it a lot. Of course, I enjoy all the exchanges a lot. We'll see.
