The kids are back at school today. It was still pretty cold this morning, but it was more like normal winter cold for around here. It's cold enough that the school won't be allowing any outdoor recess today. I'm not sure what the cut off temperature is for that.

I went in to the library when Cordelia went to school. With snow and my boots, it just doesn't make sense to come back home for fifteen minutes. Going in when Cordelia does, means that I arrive before the librarian, but if the library's locked, I can easily wait in the hall. This morning, there was someone in there, so I went in and got started on shelving books. When the librarian arrived, she asked me to pull some books-- Newbery Award winners-- from a list. That filled in the time until the kids brought their books in.

I seem to have messed up last time. There was a little girl today, in the second class I help with, who, according to the records, had four overdue books. She denies having checked any of them out, and the librarian and I have no reason to doubt her. That means that I must have forgotten to scan someone's barcode before I started checking out books to them. We have no idea who's got those books.

I'm kind of hungry, but I don't dare eat much. This morning's coffee didn't stay down (I thought about not going in to the library, but I don't think I'm actually sick, not in a contagious sense). I might be fine to eat whatever I want, but I also might not be. I had some dry cereal so that I could take my must be taken with food medication. I skipped my multivitamin, just in case.

Scott badly needs an evening when he can simply have dinner and then crash. Unfortunately, Thursday isn't that day. He has to drive Cordelia to and from indoor soccer practice. (Some people call indoor soccer 'futsul.' I may occasionally do that. Rec & Ed discontinued that name because it was confusing people.) It's times like this when I really, really wish I could drive safely. I do plan to go along. I want to stop at Kroger, and I want to drop some things off at the nearby library branch.
