the_rckToday, we took a trip out to Mast Shoes so that I could order the loafers I need. They'll mail them to me, and it should take about two weeks. There was a little bit of difficulty when the clerk tried to sell me a different style of SAS shoe. She thought that my style wasn't in the catalog and had been replaced by something different. Fortunately, we managed to find the right style, and I knew what size I needed (I've got a card in my wallet with the style names and sizes for the two SAS shoes I buy).
From there, we went to Gourmet Garden for lunch. Cordelia decided to be adventurous and order sweet and sour chicken. We told them to serve the sauce on the side. She dipped a couple of times but mostly ate the plain, breaded chicken. Scott had ginger chicken with string beans, and I had almond chicken. They brought our meals out at different times. Scott's was first, then Cordelia's. Mine took long enough that Scott was nearly done with his by the time mine arrived.
Then we went to the library. We were in and out fast enough that we didn't have to pay for parking. Cordelia got three Diary of a Wimpy Kid books (to add to the two she already had out), two of which she's read before. I mostly got CDs. I've been going through a lot of those as I seek out music that I'll enjoy. I'm willing to try just about anything that I encounter. I've been trying to log CDs, but I can't think of anything to say about most of them beyond 'I liked it,' 'I didn't like it,' and 'I didn't dislike it.' That means the logging isn't likely to be of interest to anybody but me. Somehow, I don't have the vocabulary to talk about music.
Finally, we stopped at Momo Tea (Bubble Island is still closed. We checked as we drove by. The chairs are still up on the tables). I tried lemon tea which tasted more of tea than I expected. It also wasn't at all sweet. I don't think I'll get it again. Cordelia tried yogurt tea. She said it was okay, but she didn't finish it. I tasted it. It was sweet. I'm not sure how to describe the flavor. The bubbles (called boba at this place) were still a little undercooked for my taste though not as much so as last time.
