the_rckSchool is closed today for Martin Luther King, Jr Day. Normally, that would mean sleeping in, but I invited one of Cordelia's friends over, and she can only come if her father drops her off on his way to work, some time between 7:30 and 8:00. Her younger brother is here, too, because their parents both work and didn't have any place else for him to go. (I offered. I thought they might not know what to do with him.) It's likely that I'll have them both again next week on Tuesday when the teachers have a professional development day.
The girls are playing in Cordelia's room (we'll see if Cordelia's reluctance to go into the basement holds) while the little brother plays Wii Sports Resort. I'm debating whether or not it's irresponsible to put in earbuds and listen to music. I've got about ten CDs from the library that I'd like to start in on. I'll probably do it. I don't think it will be harder for me to hear the girls than it is already with the Wii going.
