the_rckThe trip to the social worker went off without a hitch this week. We were actually there by about 2:15 (the cab's supposed to come at 2:00, and it takes about fifteen minutes to get there). The social worker saw us early which meant we had a long time to wait afterward. Cordelia was a pretty good sport about it though she almost melted down over not having a pencil with which to do her homework.
We talked about trying to find other ways to challenge Cordelia's fears. She said she might be willing to spend the night away from us if she could take her iPad. We talked about the possibility of doing a Girl Scout over night at the Hands-On Museum tomorrow. I don't think it will work out because it starts at seven and she's busy tomorrow until eight. They also expect a parent to come along which makes the whole thing less useful for Cordelia than I'd hoped. She was enthusiastic about it because I told her she might be able to stay up all night (which means her terror of not being able to sleep wouldn't apply).
