The cab going to the appointment smelled heavily and unpleasantly of perfume. The cabbie had the window open, so I think he thought so, too. It was warm for February, but it was still cold enough for an open window to be unpleasant.

Cordelia was monosyllabic during the part of the session with the social worker that I was present for. She had tried to convince me that she doesn't need to go, even going so far as to say that, if I loved her, I wouldn't make her go. She has a presentation in class, and the time she missed for the appointment was the time when her group was to practice for it.

She does say that she wants to try an overnight without me. Unfortunately, Scott's parents are leaving for a long trip to Florida (and Cordelia says it's too boring at their house for her to spend the night) while Scott's sister has said that her family is too busy during March and April for it to be possible. We might be able to sneak something in the weekend of the 22nd. I'll have to ask. I just hate doing that. It feels like a huge imposition.

The cab trip back was a little odd. The cabbie kept putting the cab into park whenever he was at a red light. He detoured to the university hospital to pick up another passenger who turned out to be someone we know-- She's the mother of one of Cordelia classmates and friends. She relies very heavily on the A-Ride to get around town because she's blind, has some mobility issues and doesn't feel safe using the regular bus.

Our cleaning lady was still here when we got home. She'd decided to stay over to clean the study (she gets cranky if I try to pay her for the time she stays over. She let me raise her hourly pay, but she won't let me pay her for additional time). The study needs cleaning, but I think we need to do it ourselves. Most of what she was doing was bagging stuff up that we're going to have to pull out and go through to decide what needs to be kept.

Cordelia tried to talk us into letting her skip soccer practice. She doesn't like how long it lasts, and I think she doesn't really love indoor soccer. That's just as well as Rec & Ed only has indoor soccer up through fifth grade. Next year, there won't be a sport for her during this season unless she's willing to go back to basketball (which I doubt she will unless we promise her a different coach).
