Feb. 18th, 2014 12:03 pmLast night, we went out to dinner. We went to Olga's. It was a compromise. Scott wanted to stay on this side of town since we were expecting the snow to start up around the time we'd be finished. Cordelia wanted to go to a Chinese buffet in Ypsilanti. Scott said he hadn't enjoyed the food there the last time we went.
We all had smoothies. It was cold for that, definitely, but we enjoyed them. Cordelia and I had original Olgas, her without onions and me without tomatoes. We both also had a cup of spinach feta soup. Scott had a chicken shwarma Olga without pickles.
The snow had really started coming down by the time we were done, and the wind was blowing it around. Parts of the road were hard to see. We got home without any real trouble, however.
I don't know how much snow we got last night. It's clear now, and Scott managed to get out of the driveway without clearing the snow first. He scheduled an oil change for this morning. Of course, we have all wheel drive. Scott never clears the driveway in the morning. He waits until after he gets home from work. I can see why he doesn't want to do it at six in the morning, but I was a little surprised he didn't do it this morning.
Scott's sister suggested that Cordelia try a solo overnight on Saturday. I'm all for it, but I don't know what Cordelia will think. She's said that it's the next step, but I don't know how she'll feel when it comes time to actually do it. Her cousin is going to e-mail her an invitation.
Cordelia is hoping that she can spend Friday with her friend, the one whose brother has strep. They want to shop for dresses to wear in the talent show. Cordelia is unwilling to pick something without her friend to approve it. We'll see how it goes. I probably need to be there for dress shopping, but Cordelia also wants to go see a movie, and I can't be along for that.
