I ought to go out. The mail carrier misdelivered some mail yesterday. Most of it was for our next door neighbor, and I took it over there while I was on my way to the school to pick Cordelia up for her appointment. There's one magazine, however, that needs to go two blocks away. I can't just put it in the mailbox and hope the mail carrier picks it up because they won't. They'll leave it and not see that it's addressed to someone else. I have to take it over there personally.

I just don't want to. It's dreadfully cold. With the windchill, it's well below zero. It wasn't bad enough for them to cancel school, but it's supposed to get close to that point later today.

It seems silly to ask Scott for a ride when it's just down the street and around the corner, but I may end up doing that. It's that cold. Maybe we can detour on the way to Cordelia's game tomorrow.

Of course, I'm still waiting to know whether or not Scott's working this weekend. He's first in line for overtime if any is required, and Cordelia has games both Saturday and Sunday, so I really need to know. I have my fingers crossed that he won't have to work at all, but I'm prepared to e-mail out to ask for help with transportation.

I'd put it in the mailbox with a sticky note "misdelivered mail" on the outside. If the mail carrier cares at all, that should get his/her attention. Also, flag it like outgoing mail.

I just go ahead and circle the address on the envelope or label, write "misdelivered, pls redeliver" and put it in the mailbox. They never come back, so I ASSume the mail gets to the right place. You could go ahead and just throw it in a public mailbox that way, if you think your carrier won't take it back.
