the_rckCordelia has a slumber party to attend tonight. She's really looking forward to it. She's been talking about it all week. She's even saying she might try it without her iPad. The party is a belated birthday party for a friend whose birthday was in December.
Last night, we went shopping for a birthday present. We went to Barnes & Noble and bought a Foxtrot book and a Calvin and Hobbes book. The friend's mother recommended those as a good option. We're including a gift receipt in case she already owns the particular volumes we picked out.
Scott and Cordelia are going to stop on the way to the party to pick up a new sleeping bag. We have three old sleeping bags, one army surplus, one battered dark green thing and one purple Winnie-the-Pooh bag. None of them are things Cordelia finds socially acceptable. This sleeping bag will be used for fifth grade camp (though she's still saying she might not go) and if she does any over nights this summer (half of the science center camps come with an over night. I haven't managed to pin Cordelia down to get her to tell me which camps interest her, though, and I fear they'll fill up before she's willing to talk to me).
