Mar. 15th, 2014 07:08 pmWe were late for Cordelia's soccer game. I had the time wrong by ten minutes, so we arrived a couple of minutes after the game started. Cordelia's team kind of ran over the other team. I think the final score was something like eight to three.
One of those eight goals was Cordelia's. It's a first for her, and Scott and I thought it was a big deal. Cordelia seemed to consider it less of a big deal. She was kind of grumpy after the game. We ended up taking her for frozen yogurt after the game to celebrate.
We ran into a family we know at the frozen yogurt place. They're zoned for Cordelia's school but have had their kids at another school for years because there are grandparents who live near that other school. We mostly know them because their daughter is Cordelia's age and played on Cordelia's soccer team several years running. The father assisted when Scott coached soccer. They're considering Cordelia's school for their son who'll be in third or fourth grade next year. They're sending their daughter to the middle school because that's what she wants.
The mother works for the school district. She said they only posted the principal's job about two weeks ago. She's not sure how they can possibly have someone hired by the first week of April. She did mention a couple of specific people who've been rumored to be under consideration, but I know nothing about either of them. One is a man who's currently principal at another school who used to be principal at Cordelia's school many years ago. The other is an unspecified assistant principal from one of the middle schools.
Part of the reason we were late to Cordelia's soccer game is that she and I made cookies. We'd have been fine, but it turned out we were out of vanilla, and we had to send Scott to the store to get some. That delay meant we weren't ready to leave until about 4:30. That wouldn't have been a big deal if the game started at 4:50 as I thought, but the game started at 4:40 which was right about when we arrived.
Today, I started taking Prilosec. I tried it once before, about twenty years ago, and it gave me worse reflux, so I'm not altogether optimistic that it will work. It just happens to be the only proton pump inhibitor that my insurance will cover, and my gastroenterologist really wants me taking a proton pump inhibitor.
