Mar. 26th, 2014 10:00 amHaving decided that I didn't much care for the tangerine white tea, I decided to try the cucumber white yesterday. I liked it better than the tangerine, but it was still kind of grassy. I like the pear white best out of the three white teas.
Today, I'm trying the lapsong souchong. It smells and tastes-- particularly the aftertaste-- kind of smoky but not in a really bad way. I'm not entirely sure of my opinion of it yet. I'm drinking it unsweetened which may be a mistake. I mean, it's not overly bitter, but I might like it better with some sweetness in it. I'll try some stevia in the next cup.
I still don't have a headache, so I'm inclined to let stevia off the hook in that direction. I thought briefly this morning that I was going to have a headache, but that hasn't turned into anything. Generally, if I'm going to wake up with a headache, I can feel it starting when I get up to take my thyroid medicine at 5:15, and I felt kind of that way then, but I was fine when I got up at 7:00.
I did discover, a few days ago, that I was using the wrong amount of powdered coffee when making my morning mug. The Kroger brand that we usually get calls for two tablespoons a cup, and I just went on using that much when we bought the other brand. When I finally thought to look, that tin says to use four teaspoons (it takes three teaspoons to make a tablespoon, so I'd been using 150% of what I needed) a cup. No wonder the coffee with the new mix tasted stronger. Even using the correct amount of powder, I still need to sweeten it to make it palatable.
