Mar. 29th, 2014 03:55 pmThe chicken I was going to cook for dinner last night had gone bad. When I opened it up, it stank, and it had little bumps all over it. Fortunately, we had turkey burgers in the freezer, so we didn't have to make an emergency trip to the grocery store. We did get a reminder that we can't run the electric grill/griddle and the microwave at the same time. We always forget that and have to run down to flip the circuit breaker.
This morning, at eleven, Cordelia's indoor soccer team had a sort of a party. Most of it was a kids versus parents game that I didn't participate in. Scott and Cordelia both played quite a bit. At the end, there were cupcakes for the kids.
After the party, we went to Olga's for lunch. They were considerably more crowded than usual, and service was slow. Cordelia and I ordered smoothies that were completely thawed by the time they arrived. Each of us got a dollop of cheese spread with our meals. For both me and Cordelia, the cheese was placed on top of a napkin.
We stopped for haircuts at a Great Cuts that opened last year some time. It's on Plymouth Rd so it's closer than the place Scott usually goes to. We wanted to see if it was any good. It's more convenient, definitely. I was happy enough with the trim I got. I think Scott was pleased. Cordelia was really reluctant to get her hair trimmed, but she went through with it. They put some leave in conditioner in her hair because it was really tangled when we got there. She gets big tangles that mat and puff out.
From there, we stopped at a nearby Asian grocery. I wanted to look around, but Cordelia was impatient to leave. We got some snacks and a package of tofu. Maybe we can go back some time without Cordelia. I don't know when. There isn't much opportunity for that sort of thing, especially now that she's doing a sport that Scott's involved in, too.
Right now, Scott's doing the grocery shopping, and Cordelia's watching The Avengers. She's annoyed because I won't leave the living room. She wants to watch on the TV (as opposed to her laptop or iPad mini), so she wants to kick me out of the living room. Not happening.
