I wimped out on helping with the book fair set up. That was this morning. I napped instead because I was exhausted. I feel more than a little guilty about that. The set up was supposed to be done by one woman working alone, and moving the chairs and tables really goes better with help.

Cordelia's class had a field trip today. They should have gotten back about half an hour ago. They went to Hill Auditorium to see Winton Marsalis. I know that the tickets to see him at the open to the public concert yesterday were more than $40, but the tickets for the kids today were only $7. (That's still a lot for some families, and I always wonder about the families who can't afford it. Is there a PTO fund or something? It sounds like the sort of thing the PTO ought to do.)

I casually mentioned that braiding hair at night can limit overnight tangles, and now Cordelia wants me to braid her hair every night. Fortunately, she has enough hair that it works. I think it's helping, too. I just have to make her bring back the hair bands so that I can reuse them. So far, she hasn't, and that's unsustainable.

Next week is spring break. Scott has taken the week off. Cordelia got cranky about that because she wants time to herself in the living room. With both of us home, she's unlikely to get it. Of course, her friend and her friend's brother will likely be over a lot. I don't expect they'll get strep a second time. I need to e-mail their mother to ask if she wants me to take them that week. I also need to offer for Good Friday. There won't be school that day. I kind of feel like there should be school with the understanding that religious Christian families can keep their kids home.
