the_rckSo, I got my Remix assignment. I think it's going to be more challenging this year than in years past. I don't want to say too much about why because I don't want to give away who I'm writing for or what fandom. I will just say that my remixee has a lot of fic, most of it in fandoms I don't dare touch because I know nothing about them. They've only got a few fics in the fandom we matched in, and I'm not sure any of them will work for me. I'm looking at stories in other fandoms that I also know but didn't match on, either because I didn't offer them or because my remixee didn't have enough stories to qualify in them.
I need to buckle down and start reading. I'm just not sure when I'm going to be able to. The next week looks awful that way. I expect to have kids in the living room playing Mario Kart most of the week. Even when Cordelia and her friend are busy in Cordelia's room, the little brother will be in the living room playing. I'm going to have to get assertive and kick him off the Wii for an hour each day so that I can do my exercise programs. I can't afford to let them go all week.
I'm reluctant to read explicit or even mature fic while I've got kids around. They're not interested in what's going on on my computer screen, but it feels wrong to me. I hate to lose a whole week, however, so I'm going to have to see what I can do.
