I've been wanting a ball to use with my exercise programs for while. I have one that's the right size but under-inflated with no way to get more air into it. I've asked Scott to keep his eyes open and buy me one if he sees such a thing.

Last week, he bought me a ball. It's like one of those standard balls they have in gym class in schools except that it's blue instead of red. Unfortunately, it's too big. I need a ball about two thirds that size. I think I could use it for Sit and Be Fit, but I doubt it will work for Body Electric which is what I need it for more. Body Electric uses the ball for support and to keep the knees at the right distance from each other during certain exercises. A ball that's too large puts my body in the wrong position.

I'm still trying to figure out how to make some parts of Body Electric work. Some things, I'm simply not strong enough to do, and I make my best effort at those things because skipping them isn't going to help. Some things, I can't do because the position is too painful. Most of those involve being on my hands and knees or supporting my upper body on my elbow and forearm. I've tried using a pillow, but it's awkward and doesn't work well. I tried our memory foam bathmat, but it compressed quickly and provided no cushion. My next idea is to get one of those foam pads that they make for gardeners to kneel on. I just have to get to somewhere where they sell them (or get Scott to remember when he goes).

There are a few things in Body Electric and Sit and Be Fit that I can't do properly because my arms are proportionately shorter than most people's. Sit and Be Fit likes chair push ups where one puts one's hands behind one's back and pushes up off the seat of the chair. I can't do that because my hands just barely reach the seat. Body Electric likes things when one's down on knees and elbows. I can't maintain those positions. I always end up up on my hands without even thinking about it.

ah, I also have the not proportional issues with my arms and legs. Sitting down I was nearly the same height as a friend of mine who is six feet tall, standing up I'm 5,4". All my height is in my torso...pants and shirts are always about 3 to 4 inches to long :(

When my mom did physical therapy she found an exercise mat that was about 3 inches thick, heavy foam pad and it tri folded for storage. I don't think it cost much. It was thicker than most of the yoga mats I see by far, but it still had pretty solid support.
