Apr. 17th, 2014 01:07 pmThis will be a strange Easter. Scott's parents start back from Florida on Saturday, so they won't be around on Sunday. Scott's sister and her family have been in Florida, too. I don't know when they start back. Usually, we spend Easter with Scott's sister's in-laws, but they only invite us if Scott's sister and her family will be there.
I'm trying to think how to make the day special. We'll probably roast a chicken. Maybe Cordelia will like that. I've got a day yet to decide what else to cook. I wish I wasn't so limited by my stamina. If we were sure Scott would be home, he could do some of the work, but the overtime is starting to ramp up.
Scott's bought candy, and we'll be giving Cordelia a CD. I'm not sure she's not too old for hunting for candy filled eggs in the living room (there aren't any really good hiding places, but at least, we don't tend to lose track of any eggs). She tends not to eat that candy until she has nothing else left, and even then, she's likely to forget about it. I hope Scott remembered that Cordelia doesn't like jelly beans.
Scott talked about doing something different with the eggs this year, but I don't know if anything will come of that-- He wanted to buy a gift and take a picture of it. He'd print the picture and cut it into pieces. Each egg would get a piece of the picture. She'd have to find them all and reconstruct the photo. It sounds unnecessarily complicated, but it might be better than candy. What we'd give her, though, I have no idea. We're having trouble finding things she wants for her birthday.
