I'm feeling kind of vaguely accomplished. I filled the dishwasher, ran it and emptied it. I've got bread in the machine. I completed my canon review for Remix. Now I just have to put away my laundry and start writing. The writing may or may not happen this afternoon-- I've got a big bite out of the middle of most afternoons because I do two exercise programs, one at 2:00 and one at 2:30, and I don't want to skip them. If I skip them once, I'm likely to skip them more often than that. It's bad enough that I can't do the programs on Thursdays (the cleaning lady arrives in the middle of the first program).

Scott did get me two of those foam kneeling pads that they make for gardeners. I'm hoping those will make it possible for me to do exercises that put weight directly on my knees and/or elbows. The yoga mat is definitely not enough of a cushion. I did try out a couple of exercises as soon as Scott brought the pads home. I think they'll work. They'd better. They were $10 each.

Cordelia has expressed the hope that her friend and her friend's brother can come over often during the summer. I suspect that that won't work out. Their parents will make plans to have someone care for them all day, every day. I'm not willing to volunteer for that.

There's a millage on the ballot in May for expanding the bus system. I'm all for it, but there's plenty of opposition from people who resent all new taxes (and who don't use the bus system). They're talking about longer hours. Coverage in the evenings and on the weekends is currently poor. The buses are infrequent and crowded and don't go everywhere they do during standard hours.

They're also talking about expanding the A-Ride program so that riders have access to 'more doctors.' I think they almost have to be talking about East Ann Arbor (a branch of the university hospital) and Domino Farms. Right now, because the buses don't go there, the A-Ride doesn't go there. That means that a doctor's appointment can cost quite a lot just for transportation. I'm expecting to spent $40 on cabs when I go to see the surgeon in June. Cordelia's doctor has also moved to Domino Farms, so we'll have to pay that much whenever she goes in, that plus the $25 copay.
