Last night, there was putt putt at Cordelia's school. She and I went for the whole thing. It was very sparsely attended which is a pity because everything but the movie was outside and the weather was beautiful. Very few kids played putt putt. The playground was too tempting. Cordelia ran around with a few other fifth graders the whole time.

I ended up volunteering at the food table. I took money and made change. All of the hot dogs and hamburgers sold, so did all of the chips. There was a lot of lettuce, onions and tomatoes leftover, though. There was fruit, too, but no baked goods or candy. There were snow cones (cherry only), and we sold a fair amount of gatorade and pop.

Scott showed up in the middle of clean up. I hadn't expected to see him at all. He was dead on his feet after being at work for thirteen hours. He had gotten home, showered and more or less collapsed on the bed. He helped a little with clean up. There were two tables to be moved back inside, and he was one of the people lifting them.

Cordelia has been resisting bedtime. It's often nearly ten o'clock by the time she turns out the light. I've been trying to fight it but with no luck. I can't get her to start brushing her teeth before nine. I have told her that, if she announces she's hungry after eight thirty, she's out of luck. She doesn't seem extra tired, going to bed so late, but it means that Scott and I get no time just for us. She's not necessarily even asleep by the time we need to turn out our lights. She also rarely ever goes away over night, so we don't get much time just for us. I'm not sure there's a solution. Us staying up later isn't an option.
