May. 9th, 2014 09:30 amI've been inching my way through Rubi el Hada Roja. I understand about two thirds of what I'm reading, so I really need to find that dictionary that Cordelia borrowed. There are a lot of words that look familiar, that I'm sure I once knew, and I can figure some words out from context. I think having read the book in English helps.
It's a little disconcerting that 'hada' (fairy) is masculine while Rubi, the actual fairy, is female. It seems wrong to me to combine 'el hada' with 'roja' since the genders don't agree. I suppose I've learned something just from that.
The next Spanish book I'm getting is, if I'm recalling correctly, one of the Junie B. Jones books. I've never read any of those, so I'm going to be facing more of a challenge.
