May. 19th, 2014 05:23 pmScott's father's surgery is set for first thing tomorrow (that is, he's the surgeon's first scheduled procedure). He has to be there at 5:15 for all the pre-op preparation. Scott and his sister will leave here about 6:30 tomorrow morning. I was a little surprised that they didn't set out tonight and spend the night down there, but that would have meant that Scott would miss Cordelia's concert, so I'm just as happy that they're waiting.
I don't know if Scott plans to record Cordelia's concert for our parents. Scott's parents would probably prefer to have Cordelia play for them when they get back. (She did take her viola with them when she spent the night with them a few weeks ago. I assume she played all of her songs for them then.) My parents, well, I don't know. Well, I do know they'd prefer to have Cordelia play for them, but that's not going to happen. They may come up this summer (if all goes well), but Cordelia won't have a viola over the summer unless we buy one, and Cordelia's not sufficiently interested in continuing to play to justify the expense. If she decides to continue with viola in the fall, the school will provide a viola again. They provide the larger, more expensive instruments but expect the kids who play things like violin or clarinet to buy or rent one somewhere.
