Scott just called. They started the 'major' part of the surgery about half an hour ago. There's no news beyond that. I hope that his father is out of surgery before Scott and his sister have to leave to come home. Scott said his sister wanted to by home by six, so that means staying no more than another two hours. I don't know that that's time enough. Hopefully, her timing is flexible enough that they can stay longer if they need to. I wasn't actually expecting Scott home until around bedtime, but then, I was also surprised that they didn't go down last night so as to see their father before he went in.
