Cordelia came home from camp yesterday kind of cranky. The camp lasted for eleven hours, and that's a long time. They divided it up into three sessions with drills in the morning and afternoon and games after dinner. Cordelia said that each session felt like it lasted a day all on its own. It didn't help that the gym where they're working either doesn't have air conditioning or has broken air conditioning.

Cordelia tried, half-heartedly, to talk us into letting her stay home today. I think she knew it was unlikely. Unfortunately, the two girls she knows who're at the camp are in a different group than she is.

This morning, she woke up and her left leg was really hurting. She limped around. I tried to massage it but only succeeded in tickling her. I pulled out some Ben-Gay, and that helped a teeny bit. She was walking more or less normally by the time her ride arrived. I felt bad sending her off like that.

And I note that she forgot her knee pads this morning. She took her water bottle this time but forgot her knee pads. Hopefully, she won't need them.

I spent bits of yesterday on paperwork. Social Security, once a year, wants an accounting of how much of the money they provide goes into savings and how much we spend. They've never asked what we spend it on, but if they're ever going to, it's likely to happen this year. The sewer line repair took a big bite out of Cordelia's savings.

After that paperwork, I had to fill out a form for fall soccer. Usually, I'd register online, but [livejournal.com profile] cherydactyl's younger daughter wants to be on the same team as Cordelia, and we thought we'd better send in the forms together.

Then I had forms to fill out for science center camp. Cordelia decided that she wanted to do a week there after all. She'd previously said that all the weeks without overnights sounded boring. [livejournal.com profile] cherydactyl's daughter will be at this particular camp. I think that was the deciding factor for Cordelia. It's a four day camp, the week of July 4th, and it focuses on Michigan raptors. Hopefully, we'll be able to do our preparations for the Girl Scout camping expedition around the sessions of the science center camp; we'll need to leave not long after Cordelia gets home on Thursday.

I saw my doctor yesterday. It's a few weeks early for my six month visit, but I'd been needing to see her for months and had been putting it off. I got two prescriptions renewed, and she sent in the order for the blood tests I need to do (those have to be done fasting. I'll go in one of the days when Cordelia goes to science center camp). She thinks the lumps I have in my pubic area are sebaceous cysts, but because she's not certain, she referred me to another clinician at UHS who is an expert. There is the possibility that they're somehow related to a lipid imbalance or some such, caused by my medications. If that's the case, all three lumps will need to be biopsied.

I go back next Wednesday to see the expert. I'll have to take Cordelia along, but she's old enough to wait in the waiting area with a book. I doubt she'll ask me why I have to go in. She's never been curious about that sort of thing before. Then again, maybe the neighbors would be willing to take her for a couple of hours. She plays with their older two kids, mostly over here, and there's an adult home there all day. She would probably prefer going to the neighbors'.
