Yesterday, Scott took me and Cordelia to the library and left us there while he did the grocery shopping. There's a thing this weekend-- Kids Read Comics-- and they had a sort of artists' alley set up on the first floor. Cordelia and I went through it twice, once trying to get all the summer game codes (codes mean points. Points mean prizes) and once to really look at the comics and art on display.

All of that didn't take very long, so we had time to kill. I thought Cordelia would want to search the building for the game codes scattered throughout (I've heard there are at least twenty), but she wasn't at all interested, so we sat around the children's room for a while.

[livejournal.com profile] cherydactyl and her daughters were downtown while we were. She and her younger daughter were heading away from the library when we arrived, looking to get some food. They came back to the library while Cordelia and I were hanging around the kids' room, and the younger daughter and Cordelia played some sort of computer game.

I got worried that Scott wouldn't come back for us in time for Cordelia to go to her Girl Scout meeting, but the meeting was at four, and Scott came for us about three fifteen. We got bubble tea for me and Cordelia then took Cordelia to the meeting. I offered to stay, but Cordelia preferred that I didn't.

Fortunately, one of the other girls in Cordelia's group for the camping trip was there. They needed to plan two meals, a lunch and a breakfast, and Cordelia had been reluctant to call either of the other two girls (and they showed no sign of being willing to call her). I'm not sure how making pancakes for seventeen over a campfire and camp stove will work, but I'm not in charge of making that work. The girls will be preparing the meals themselves.

Scott and Cordelia went for another bike ride after dinner. They were out until about nine fifteen. They went to the book store, and Scott saw some books he really wants, but he resisted the impulse to buy them because we're really short on money this month (we don't know yet if we'll need to borrow more from Cordelia. We're hoping not). If we hadn't already picked out our anniversary present for each other (a Sentinels of the Multiverse supplement), I'd be tempted to try to get to the book store to buy these books for him. I don't remember who wrote them, but they're the first two Star Wars movies as if written by Shakespeare. Scott loves them.
