I'm debating weissvsaiyuki. I have the first chapters of two different fics that might, just maybe, fit one of the themes. I'm not sure how elastic the categories are-- Does it count as a 'fantasy AU' if it follows canon but a character who's not canonically a mage is one? Does it count if there's demon summoning when there's demon summoning in canon? Does a character who might be a vampire (I haven't decided what he is yet) make something a fantasy AU? How about the maybe vampire combined with demon summoning?

I'm pretty sure the chapters don't fit any of the other themes, though, not even if I stretch things to the breaking point. I'm also not sure-- The terms of the challenge say that a chapter of a longer work is acceptable, but the wording seems to imply an additional chapter of an existing work rather than the first chapter of a new work.

I should probably ask these questions on the main entry for the challenge. I'll do that tomorrow, but I am interested in opinions if anybody has one.
