Jun. 26th, 2014 05:24 pmI think I need to start setting an alarm to get myself up in the morning. In theory, I can sleep as late as I want to as long as I'm up in time to get Cordelia lunch (she's fine getting breakfast without me). In practice, I'm better off getting up no later than 9:30. That has to do with when I take medications, mostly. There's one I take right when I get up and then again with lunch. I like to have at least four hours between the doses (it's generally five hours on weekdays during the school year). Putting off the second dose and taking it some time after lunch doesn't work because I'm apt to forget to take it entirely.
Left on my own, I wake some time between 9:00 and 11:00. It varies pretty wildly given that I go to bed at the same time each night.
I am finding that I don't need extra caffeine these days (which is nice given that my best way to get it is tea. It's too warm for tea most of the time). Sleeping myself out is nice that way.
I do find myself utterly worn out on the days when Cordelia has a softball game. It's weird because all I do is sit there for a couple of hours, watching. Maybe something about being outside for so long has an effect on me. Soccer games don't have this effect. I don't know if it's that it's warmer than it was during soccer season or if the time of day matters (soccer was in the mornings. Softball is in the evenings). Maybe it's that I find softball more stressful-- I have trouble believing that it's possible to hit or catch something the size of a softball, so I'm constantly on edge, thinking that the kids can't possibly do it.
