Jun. 27th, 2014 12:25 pmLast night we went to Blue Nile for dinner. There's some sort of special thing going on in town-- Restaurant Week or some such-- so they had a special menu. The special menu had a bunch of stuff on it that we simply didn't want. We wanted the usual vegetarian feast. Fortunately, they were able to accommodate us.
After dinner, we stopped at Literati, an independent bookstore. Scott and Cordelia each got a book, but I didn't see anything that I wanted and thought I would actually read. I'm buying very few books these days because, once I get them, they just sit on the shelf, collecting dust.
Then we walked down to Main St and ran into an old friend of Scott's. She's in Michigan because her father is very ill. He may never come home again. She was in town to see another friend, and they just happened to be having drinks outside when we walked by. It was good to see her. I'm just sorry for the circumstances that have brought to Michigan.
We went on to Vault of Midnight because Scott was hoping to find the most recent Sentinels of the Multiverse supplement there (we agreed some time ago that it will be our anniversary present to each other). They didn't have it, but Cordelia wanted a volume of Tiny Titans and an issue of Teen Titans Go! Scott's got a couple of other places in mind that might have the Sentinels of the Multiverse supplement. We don't want to buy it online except as a last resort. We're trying to buy more stuff from local or semi-local stores.
After that, we went to Kilwin's for ice cream. The store has two parts that aren't connected in front (I'm assuming they are in back, somehow). To get from one to another, customers have to go outside. The first door is just for candy, I think. The ice cream was in the second room. It all smelled wonderful. I had cappuchino chocolate chip, Cordelia had superman, and Scott had something called Ann Arbor mud slide (or something like that).
