I slept badly last night. I spent a while reading in the bathroom while Scott slept. Once I went back to bed, I had an awful time falling asleep. I think I was barely asleep by the time my thyroid medication alarm went off at five. Cordelia got me up a little bit after ten. Usually she lets me sleep as late as I want, so I was afraid I'd sleep until noon. Of course, I'm now groggy and trying not to nod off.

Right now, the weather forecast for Thursday and Friday looks good. It'll be clear and in the 70s both days and down in the 50s both nights. That'll make sleeping bags considerably more comfortable.

I talked to the two Girl Scout troop leaders about coffee. One is planning to bring a large thermos of coffee. The other plans to bring instant and hope for hot water. I'm not sure I could get a thermos big enough for two days of coffee (and would it even stay warm for two days?). I guess I'll bring instant and hope for hot water.

I've got to get back to reading my library books. They keep coming due before I've gotten very far in them. I'm willing to renew once, but more than that just seems like a bad idea. Of course, I'm reading fic on my e-reader instead of reading library books. I can't really do both.

Does your library have a partnership with lib2go? I can check out eBooks from them via my library card to read on my phone - presumably you could do something similar for your eReader?

Our library does do e-books. I'm pretty sure they use Overdrive. The last time I looked into it, pretty much every book had a long waitlist so that I couldn't predict when I'd actually get a book, and I'd often get too many all at once.

Re: thermos duration, during Sandy we were boiling water for tea & coffee on the gas grill and sticking it in thermoses for the day. Longest warmth retention we got from most was about 18 hours, for 'eh, drinkable' values of 'warm'. One particularly good one lasted a whole 24 hours. You could maybe bring a thermos and instant? Brew the coffee the night before, when the girls weren't using the fire to cook, it'd still be passably warm in the morning.

That's an idea. I'll see if I can get Scott to pick up a thermos after work one of these days. I know we don't own one.
