I'm a ball of stress right now. The summer looks to be busy. There'll be weeks when nothing much happens, but there are several weeks that will be busy. I can't really do anything to get ready for most of it, either.
Origins is next week. I'm both looking forward to it and dreading it. I'm mostly dreading the logistics of getting there and of figuring out getting around. We have an extra hotel room that we need to get rid of. We're still hoping to find someone who needs/wants a room so that we don't have to eat the cancellation fee (there are enough benefits to taking the second room that we'll deal with the cancellation fee if it comes to that. We just don't want to). Anybody know somebody going to Origins who'd like a room at the Hyatt?
In July, we have one week of camp and a partial week that Cordelia will spend with her cousins, going to a vacation Bible school. July doesn't look so bad, really.
August is going to be nasty. The first week, we'll be visiting my grandmother. The second week, Cordelia and I will be with my parents in a rental house on a lake. I rather expect that week to be hell-- No internet, my parents, a lake that I'll have to go into (Cordelia will want to swim. I'm terrified of water where I can't see the bottom. Lakes are bad), two big dogs (Cordelia's still afraid of dogs), utter dependence on my parents for food, transportation and so on. The third week, Cordelia has camp again. Then we finally get to the orthodontics consult.
The orthodontics consult has been rescheduled twice already. I want it to be over with. The first two non-appointments were in June. I'm ticked about the whole thing. I want to know what's going to be needed for Cordelia, what I'm going to have to manage for her. Dread of the unknown is making the whole thing worse.
Can I do August now and get it over with?
