Jul. 13th, 2014 04:16 pmScott found out about an outdoor concert today that he knew I'd like. A local duo I like called Mustard's Retreat were doing a free neighborhood concert at Burns Park (a local school). The concert was at 1:00, and we needed to stop at the library on the way. I'd made banana bread this morning, and we couldn't leave until that was done.
I had a lot of holds come in this week, more than I expected. I think I've got eight or nine books and the same number of CDs. Another CD came in after we'd been and gone. I'll have to cancel that hold so that someone else can have the CD. I won't get in there to get it before the hold expires.
Scott and Cordelia dropped me at the park and went to buy lunch. I was nervous all out of proportion to what was going on. I'd probably have chickened out and insisted on going home if I hadn't know the trouble Scott went to to get me there. It was the agoraphobia talking. There was no sensible reason for me to be afraid. I just was.
Once the concert started, I enjoyed it. The whole thing ran an hour and a half, and they did both songs I knew and songs that were new to me. Scott and Cordelia brought me lunch about half an hour in and stayed for the rest of the concert. Cordelia was remarkably patient.
I bought three CDs after the concert. I haven't had a chance to listen to them yet because Scott took the opportunity of Cordelia retreating to her room to put in a DVD. We've been watching Burn Notice.
