Scott has found a new brand of flavored carbonated water. We had been buying the Kroger brand which is kind of nasty but was better than nothing for giving me a little variety. This brand, La Croix, comes in single serving cans (The Kroger stuff comes in a large bottle that takes me days to finish). We've tried cherry-lime and cran-raspberry so far. I've no idea how many flavors there are. I think I like the cran-raspberry better than the cherry-lime.

The powerstrip we use in the living room has just died. The outlet itself is fine. It's just the powerstrip. The dratted thing is only about a year old, too. I tried turning it off and on to see if that would help, but it didn't. It was fine up until about 2:30 then abruptly quit working.

We need to figure out how best to clean the pizza stone Scott's been using on the grill. It looks kind of nasty right now because the pizza crust stuck to it in a couple of places. The box says not to use soap, so I hope water will do it.

Hot water and a plastic scrapy thingy is what we use to clean baking stones. The plastic scrapy thingy came with the stone, though, so if you don't have one I don't know what to tell you.

Our pizza stone didn't come with a scraper. The package says to use a plastic scrubber. We have some sponges with scrubbers on one side, so I'll try to find one of those that's clean (our cleaning lady uses one with bleach every week, so I try to use that one for everything).

Question: long term, would a Soda Stream and your own flavors be a reasonable thing?

We looked into that a little bit, but the buy in price is a little steep. I think the one we saw was between $60 and $80 (at Target). I'm remembering $80, but that seems ridiculous.

That's a pretty standard price, from what I've seen - and why I said 'long term', alas. My aunt has one and loves it. I'm afraid it would just sit unused at our house - maybe I'd love it, but...if not, that's a bit aggravating.

We've cleaned our pizza stone by leaving it in the oven on a self-clean cycle. Check what temp yours is rated for.
