It's supposed to rain all afternoon, so there will be no boating. I'm charging my e-reader anyway. I'm still frustrated that I can't charge it except by plugging it into my laptop. I thought we had a way to do it, but that's proven not to work since. Scott even bought a new powerstrip that has usb plugs for charging stuff. Everything we've tried that way works except my e-reader.

Cordelia and I are watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars streaming from Netflix. We got the first DVD to try it out, and Cordelia's hooked. I'm less enthusiastic. I don't dislike. The story is generally pretty good, but it's all been the sort of stuff I don't care much about so far. The animation is pretty darned ugly, too. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the way they go out of their way to give various droids personalities while all the non-droid characters treat them terribly just because they're droids. Perhaps eventually I'll write about that and about the ethics of using the clones to fight a war.

I've gotten a lot of comments and kudos on "Not All My Grief." I'm not sure it's passed "Rheotaxis" for either, but, if not, it's very close (and "Rheotaxis" has had a heck of a lot more readers than "Not All My Grief" has).

I fell in love with the various clones over watching (in random order, and incompletely) five seasons of ST:TCW with the boys. There's a wonderful episode early on where they actually discuss this, and Yoda tells the clones that each individual is important - fantastic scene. The animation improves, as well.

It does get pretty dark, in parts.

It took me a while to warm up to clone wars, too, but I'm glad I did. The animation gets better and better and there are some great characters. Have you met Satine yet?

To be honest, I think we skipped the entire first season and just jumped in around the second one. The stories start to pick there (at least, that's what Yebisu thought based on internet chatter and seeing the creators of the show at past Comic Cons.) I think it was around episode 9/10 of season 2 that I thought the show wasn't a waste of time.

And I do think it's great that you're both into the show. I'll be curious what her reaction is to some of the plot elements/characters. I wish Rowan was old enough to watch a show with me like that. :)
